Pandomonium

To be honest I was kind of excited when I wanted to write this post because we almost beat normal mode with 8 and then last night I just went to check the forums I saw a new thread in the Victory forums with the title of "V3M 7player Normal..." when I read that first 3 words all of my excitement just flew away from me. I thought to myself, just when we came on step closer to asians they jumped 3 steps a head of us. But I hope everyone else look at this as an encouragement to beat Normal sooner. Last night we were really close to beating Normal and brought Pandomonium down to 21% on our first daily game. I can't say it was a perfect game, actually it was not a great game to start with. We had a few bad ranks at the start but still managed to make it to Pandomonium which is a very good improvement. I won't go into the details too much since I've posted the replay below. I'll just give you the names of the players and our ranks till Pandomonium. Hopefully we'll beat it next time.

PLAYERS:

Kavaru (Ice Mage)
Cold-Hands (Ice Mage)
Eloquious (Priest)
yat (Ranger)

Random Thing of the Day #2 (RTD #2)

So its back to another dosage of RTD with me :D
Lets do a boss ability shall we? :P
Beltharzar the lord of flame
Offensive ability

FLAMEBURST

Also known at the "melee killer", the fire boss erupts with a ring of fire originating from him. If you are a melee character or near the boss for any reason, the best way is to use your invulnerable spells (aka d) or risk dying (or nearly dying). It is also possible to walk away from the boss to take lesser damage. Here are some examples:

D-ing to avoid damage from flameburst

The next 2 pictures show how you can die to flameburst

This is the amount of damage you take if you're lucky

Chatango time!

Sometimes it's good to know something about everything. So here it is, our new chat box. It's live chat with everyone and registration is for free and easy. You can edit your font and text color and has a lot more options. Chatango is a very popular chat box between most anime sites or any other kind of website and I always wished to have some kind of chat system for us in Impossible Bosses Forums like this for a long time and this is the opportunity to full fill that wish. I hope everyone else can enjoy it as much as I do.
My chatango username is Illidanevil you can add me as your friend if you want. I'll be always on the chat so drop by and say hello, if I didn't answer I'm probably not at my desk.
WMC123 and Eloquious will also be in the chat with the same names so call them up if you need something or just want to chat.

Hosting Bot 2

Bots are here RUN RUN!!!

Alright guys, seems I was completely wrong about the ETA for the bots. Luckily I was able to have the hosting bots up and running within 10 hours of purchasing them, and they are currently residing in Clan LOTI and Clan imp channel.

Clan imp username: Imp.Spirit
Clan LOTI username: Loti.Spirit

No Europe because I was too lazy at 2:00 am to make an account in Europe for the bot. I'll add the other servers later. Anyways, I've tested the bot with WMC123 and seems I have no delay on it but WMC123 claims that zwb was better than the new bot so eh!! I hope we can test the bot with everyone else to see how is the bot for everyone.

I'm also going setup administrator bots in each channel and give them root admin of the hosting bot to make adding admins easier for everyone. More info with a list of commands and useful tips will be posted later on.

Hosting Bot

I think majority of people by now have noticed that Zephrix's bot (zwb) has been missing for a few days. After talking to him we realized that the server he was using to host "zwb" is facing problems and there is no guarantee that he would be able to fix it. As a result I've decided to go a head and rent a bot from Cryptwizard for a fairly low price. They have told me that it would take about 1-2 days for the bot to be ready for usage. Anyhow, we're hoping that the hosting bot be up and running by this weekend. More info will be posted as soon as the bots are up and running.

Tip #1

This topic could be explained in a long and detailed guide but I'm just going to go over quit notes to each characters and what they should do at the end Selia's Ultimate.

Warlock:
As warlock you need to keep using Malice on others during the ultimate ( preferably on warrior or priest ) and at the end of the ultimate move out side of the circling orbs and move back in right behind them and get inside the ice circle before Selia closes it.

Fire Mage:
Fire mage is different from everyone else. After you get out of the last wave of the orbs stay out of the range of boss and start casting Meteor. Try to time your Meteor so it will hit the boss just as she finishes her Ultimate. To accomplish this best time is right after the orbs get a boost in their speed and close in to the boss at the end.

Ice Mage:
Ice mage's job is to get into the ice circle and with her Freezing Field ability open the path for those who are outside to get inside if needed or those who are inside to get out if needed. Try to look where Fire mage is casting his Meteor and open the circle around that area so he can get in.

Priest:
As Priest you can do whatever you want. It doesn't really matter if you get inside the ice circle or not because you can still heal others from the outside. It's completely your choice to stay outside or get inside the ice circle but remember to kill Trolls if you are on +M difficulty.

Paladin:
Well Paladin is a melee class so obviously you need to be inside the ice circle so follow Warlock's instruction and get inside the ice circle before it closes. Heal others a long the line as well.

Warrior:
In just a few versions back Warrior had to get inside the circle before it closes but if you want to avoid maximum damage you can stay outside of the circle then use Charge ability to slide between the ice cubes and get inside, but I don't really recommend it. The important thing you need to remember as Warrior is to be on the side that there are least amount of people because if the boss uses ICE LANCE you don't want others to get hit by it.

Ranger:
Well Ranger is an easy class because she has Sprint and can use the movement speed boost to get inside the ice circle easily but be careful of the last blast that does damage around the boss right before she casts the ice circle. It's also a good idea to cast your Rapid Fire right after ultimate.

Rogue:
Well those who play Rogue should know what they need to do here. Since you have your Close in ability you have the choice of stay out the ice circle then Close in and deal your damage to the boss or save your Close in and use sprint and get inside the circle. Since you need to be behind the boss to deal most damage then watch the Warrior and station yourself in a way that your are ready to deal damage from behind right after ultimate ends.

Druid:
To be honest I don't play Druid a lot but my opinion is that as Druid you should get inside the circle like everyone else using your Rage ability. I would suggest casting a Virtue on Warrior or rogue right when the ultimate ends then continue to do damage.

Death Knight:
Well Death knight has a lot of different ways he can act here, but here is a set of actions that I recommend:
1. get out of the circle and stay there
2. It only costs 5 mana to use Shadow step so jump inside the circle by Shadow stepping on your teammates
3. If your teammates are on low HP then cast Unholy Power to take full advantage of the fact that everyone is close together after the ultimate.
4. Cast Defile right between the outer wall of the ice circle and the boss to kill some of the ice cubes and deal damage to the boss at the same time.

Alright so this is the end of our Tip #1. I hope it was useful in some way to at least a few. After thinking for a while I came in the conclusion that there are no set of "Pro" tips that I can give to you guys so I'm just going to stick with basic tips and guidelines so I have a more wide range of topics I can pick from.

My first post

Hey guys, so here I am helping WMC123 with his blog. so let's start with a brief introduction of myself to those who might not know me.

I, Dem0n_Hunter which is my account in Wc3 on all servers except asia, started playing IB round September 2007; And since then I've never been on a break or anything like others who quit for a while and then came back. I've tried my best to expand the community of IB over the years, and here it is, another attempt to attract more people to IB.

Right now, at A-O-K's request, I'm running as the position of Shaman in Clan LOTI (USEast). I live in Vancouver, Canada and love it here. I moved here about 3 and a half years ago and continued my education here, so if my English has any problems please excuse me.

By biggest contributions to IB was creating a Wikia (Look below for the link) and a few guides and tutorials (Again look below for links) a side from trying to contribute through suggestions and bug reports ( this roll is taken over be Nelon entirely haha, can't compete with him in bug repots lol ). Since I'm still not in a University I got quit a free time on my hands so I'm doing my best to expand the IB community.

I don't want to make this post too long so I'm going to stop the introduction here. My plans for this blog is to post tips and hints and other random stuff as often as I can. So hopefully you guys can get to know me more from my future posts.

I hope more people will join us and get to enjoy one of the best games in Wc3 together.

PS: Here are the links I promised earlier

And my other guides and tutorials can be found Here

Random Thing of the Day (RTD)

Ok! Since this is the first ever RTD, lets go for a hero's spell shall we? :D
Lets see... hmmm
Priest
Support ablities
Divine Light [R]
55 mana, 70 second cooldown
FULLY restores target's health and mana.
Comment: Definately one of the or not the most useful spell in the whole game by its own right. It simply SAVES LIVES which is important, especially in high level games. Also, it can be used to restore the mana of the target, which may allow the target to continue dps-ing (Ice mage/Fire mage etc etc) or allow the target to continue healing/supporting/tanking (Priest/Pally/Warrior). A useful (but not crucial since the ranger/warrior may request for it and are given priority over it) item is the reset charm, which allows for a double divine light for a double save or a save together with a quick mana regen on yourself. Don't forget that reset costs mana to use!
WARNING: NEVER use divine light on light's ultimate as MOST (exceptions being sacred word, death knight's unholy power and serenity charm) healing spells will do the opposite (instead of healing, it damages), so divine light will INSTANTLY KILL the target.
Random fact: Divine Light used to reset cooldowns till I'm not sure :P

The best... and worst of LAG, the game-killer

Well being a Singaporean (SG) playing using zwb (US) really gives me problems with pings of over 100ms and delay (especially on a bad net day)

So.. about 2 days ago i played a game (no replays/ss for now since i'm not supposed to be using the computer) i was using priest on water and my team all died... so it was me vs her. I got add-raped (as usual) and when i spawned i mass clicked MC (mana control --> does 3x of ur current mana it terms of dmg to the boss and drains ALL ur mana) and i lagged and she went into ulti with my mc doing NOTHING!

So in the retry, i went with warrior and this time we were at light for last boss and right b4 i omega-ed (which drains ALL ur mana ... again) i got hit by a crazy enlightenment which i swear i d-ed but ended up d-ing late .. causing my replen to (restores 4500 hp and 300 mp, 15 gold) to be on cd ... omega did about 5.2k dmg and with fire gem i would have killed him ... but i died instead -.-

On another game, I was on warrior duty (again!) and it was on water (and again!) where i juz did a random shield bash (counters counterable spells, does 250 dmg with an additional 250 if a spell is countered) and guess what... she actually casted water seal (her only counterable spell... heals her hp and mp and causes all creeps or adds whichever u call it... to go nuts) and i countered it the moment she used it ! (happened twice in my whole life on the same boss)

So.. is lag really that bad of a thing? Mostly yeah but sometimes, it may just slow you down... in a good way :D
